Profound vs Asky is a choice between breadth and focus. Asky, the AI-native SEO and GEO platform from Asky Labs AB (askylabs.com), keeps SEO and AI search in one system on published plans. Profound, which calls itself "The AI Platform to Power Your Marketing," sells brand plans through a sales team after a free trial. If you are weighing a Profound alternative for a mid-market team, this page applies our buyer's framework for AI visibility tools to both.

Profound or Asky: what's the short verdict?

The biggest trade-off is focus against breadth, and a mid-market team where the same few people run SEO and AI search will usually land on Asky. Profound is an AI marketing platform: AI search data plus agents for wider marketing work, on custom Enterprise contracts. Asky is built for SEO and GEO: published plans audit technical SEO, measure AI visibility, rank both in one queue and push approved changes into Webflow, WordPress or Sanity.

  • Choose Profound if you want AI search data, custom marketing agents and ChatGPT Shopping tracking in one platform.
  • Choose Asky if SEO and GEO are the job and you want one ranked queue, a published price and CMS publishing after approval.

Both SEO and AI search need watching: in a SIGIR 2026 study of 11,500 queries, AI Overviews appeared on 51.5% of a 5,000-query real-user sample. Google organic, AI Overviews and Gemini also retrieved sharply different sources (average Jaccard similarity below 0.2), according to the paper on arXiv.

Profound

Overview

Profound is an AI marketing platform. Its monitoring layer covers Answer Engine Insights (visibility, share of voice in AI search, sentiment, citations and FactCheck), Prompt Volumes, ChatGPT Shopping and Agent Analytics. Profound's credit-based Agents have been generally available since 24 February 2026. Since 2 July 2026, AI Marketer also ranks opportunities weekly, prepares the work and asks for your approval.

Profound's homepage says it rewrites pages hit by citation decay and stages them in your CMS. Its 10 CMS integrations include Webflow, WordPress and Sanity, and its Sanity docs describe updates that patch only the fields that changed. Profound also runs a hosted MCP server with read and write tools, though its documentation does not state which plan includes it.

Strengths

  • Marketing breadth: SKU-level ChatGPT Shopping tracking on Enterprise and an invite-only Ads Studio beta for paid teams.
  • Prompt demand data: Prompt Volumes draws on 1.5 billion+ real AI conversations, filtered by intent, platform, age range and income bracket.
  • Custom agents: teams build Agents from templates, Skills, Sheets and Documents for content, research and campaigns, with 200+ integrations claimed.
  • Crawler and page data: Page Health runs Lighthouse and PageSpeed checks, and Agent Analytics filters out spoofed bots, flags AI crawlability issues and pairs crawler logs with AI referral traffic. That pairing shows whether crawling turns into visits. Across Cloudflare's network in the first week of August 2025, crawl-to-refer ratios were nearly 50,000:1 for Anthropic, 887:1 for OpenAI and 118:1 for Perplexity, according to the Cloudflare blog.

Weaknesses

  • No self-serve paid plan for brands: after the free trial, every paid brand contract starts with a sales conversation.
  • The trial cannot test your own prompts: it runs a fixed set of 50 in one language and region, with no exports or API.
  • Profound's docs describe site audits built as Agent workflows, plus Page Health and page-level crawlability checks, but not a built-in crawl of every page; ask in a demo.

Best for

Profound fits marketing teams, mid-market included, that want AI search data, prompt demand data and custom agents in one platform.

Asky

Overview

For teams where the same people run SEO and AI search, Asky is an AI-native platform for SEO and generative engine optimization that measures both and ranks the work. Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools connect on every plan, putting rankings and clicks next to AI visibility.

Like Profound, Asky tracks the major answer engines and measures share of voice, sentiment and citations against competitors, which matters because visibility differs by engine. Brand alignment checks what AI engines say against your brand profile and shows linked citations as a starting point for the fix. Profound's FactCheck works much the same way, showing inaccurate claims and their sources. Both matter: 45% of AI assistant answers about news had at least one significant issue in a 22-broadcaster study led by the BBC, according to the EBU.

Asky's CMS integrations for AI visibility publish approved pages and refreshes, writing back only the approved passages. The in-app agent proposes actions that run once you approve them. The execution layer is evolving toward an autonomous agent that manages SEO and GEO end to end.

Strengths

  • SEO and GEO in one system: a 104-issue audit covers rankings and technical optimization for AI retrieval, and AI crawler logs show which bots fetch which pages.
  • One ranked queue: AI search opportunities across content, refresh, technical, third-party and discussion tasks, sorted into the order your team should tackle them.
  • A trial on your own prompts: the 7-day free trial tracks the prompts you choose or add, on three engines.
  • MCP on every plan: a team can query its data or add prompts from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through the Asky MCP server, within its plan and role.

Weaknesses

  • Narrower scope: Asky covers SEO and GEO only, with no shopping tracking, ad campaign tools or agents for wider marketing work.
  • No market-wide prompt dataset: Asky shows search volume and difficulty per suggested prompt, but nothing like Prompt Volumes.
  • Fewer CMS integrations, but far deeper ones: three against Profound's 10. Asky edits inside pages, down to one Gutenberg block, Elementor widget or localized Webflow field, and reads every write back. Webflow static pages and some Elementor widgets get a copy-changes handoff.
  • No workflow builder: the queue is preconfigured and content changes wait for a click; only supported technical fixes run automatically. Profound's Agents let teams build workflows that publish in an automated pipeline.

Best for

Asky is the fit for mid-market teams where a small group runs SEO and AI search and wants one system for it, bought without a sales cycle.

How much do Profound and Asky cost?

Profound publishes no brand price: its pricing page lists a free Trial and custom-priced Enterprise. Asky publishes three plans: Core €99, Scale €399 and Momentum €899 a month before VAT. Both include unlimited seats.

Profound's self-serve Starter ($99 a month) and Growth ($399 a month) brand plans were still listed on its pricing page on 14 September 2026. A Strategi review of Profound recorded them gone on 16 September. That review's trial details predate the current terms.

On 30 September 2026, the Profound trial ran 50 recommended prompts daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one language and region. It also includes limited AI Marketer credits. Enterprise is quoted per customer and adds a tailored prompt plan, more engines, custom languages and regions, ChatGPT Shopping, exports, the API and SSO. Profound lists 30+ languages and 150+ regions; Asky supports 73 prompt languages and 46 locations.

Asky bills in euros, with annual billing at ten times the monthly price and Enterprise on request. Monthly allowances are 50 tracked prompts and 250 credits on Core, and 200 prompts and 1,000 credits on Scale and Momentum; extra prompts are €0.75 each a month. Each country a prompt runs in counts as one prompt.

Every plan includes three engines of your choice (ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews by default). Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot cost €0.25 per tracked prompt per month each, and Claude €2. A new article costs 80 credits; extra credits cost €0.09 each. The REST API comes with Momentum and is an add-on on Core and Scale.

Take a team tracking 200 prompts in one country on three engines, with five seats. Scale covers it for €399 a month before VAT, with content workflows, CMS publishing and a daily queue. Core plus 150 extra prompts costs €211.50 a month, with a weekly queue and no publishing. Profound's cost cannot be computed from public information: the trial stops at 50 prompts and Enterprise is quoted.

When should you choose Profound or Asky?

Profound fits when your work reaches well beyond search; Asky fits when one team must act on SEO and AI search findings.

Choose Profound when

  • Your brand sells through ChatGPT Shopping and needs SKU-level visibility, or your paid team wants the Ads Studio beta.
  • Your marketing team wants to build its own agents and workflows for content, research and campaigns.
  • You want market-wide prompt demand data before choosing prompts.

Choose Asky when

  • You want to start this week on a published plan from €99 a month before VAT.
  • The same few people own SEO and GEO and want audits, search data and AI visibility in one ranked queue.
  • You want a 7-day trial on the prompts you choose, before any sales call.
Key takeaways
  1. Ask Profound to run your own prompts in a demo, since its trial uses a fixed set of 50.
  2. Get a Profound Enterprise quote for your prompt count, engines and regions before comparing prices.
  3. Name the person who will approve Asky's pages and refreshes, since content changes go live only after a click.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference in Profound vs Asky?

The main difference in Profound vs Asky is focus. Profound is a broad AI marketing platform that pairs AI search monitoring with agents for wider marketing work. Asky is built for SEO and GEO: it measures AI visibility and technical SEO, ranks the work in one queue and publishes approved changes to your CMS.

How much does Profound cost?

As of 30 September 2026, Profound's brand pricing has two options: a free trial and custom-priced Enterprise. The trial runs 50 recommended prompts daily for seven days on three engines. Profound publishes no Enterprise price, so request a quote for your prompts, engines, regions and AI Marketer credits.

Does Profound still offer self-serve plans?

No. Brands can start a free Profound trial but cannot buy a paid plan without sales. The Starter ($99 a month) and Growth ($399 a month) brand plans were delisted in mid-September 2026. Agencies still have a self-serve Agency Growth plan.

Does Profound publish to WordPress or Webflow?

Yes. Profound's Agents publish through 10 CMS integrations, including WordPress, Webflow and Sanity, and its Sanity docs describe patching only the fields that changed. Asky publishes approved pages and refreshes to the same three.

Is Profound only for AI search?

No. Profound's pricing FAQ says it helps teams research markets, shape campaigns, write content and build workflows for recurring tasks. Asky focuses on SEO and GEO, from the audit to CMS publishing.

What should you check before you commit?

Test both vendors on your own prompts, starting with answer capture, the check that runs across all platform comparisons we publish. For the same query, ChatGPT's and Gemini's chat interfaces shared a mean of only 12.0% and 14.8% of cited domains with their own APIs, according to an arXiv preprint.

  • Run the same prompts in an Asky trial and a Profound demo.
  • Confirm how each engine is captured (browser or API), and in which countries and languages.
  • Confirm the pricing basis (prompt, engine, country, seat or credit) and the renewal price.
  • Publish one real change to your CMS through each vendor and check what else changed.
  • Check security and procurement needs, such as SOC 2, SSO and a DPA, with both vendors.

Breadth across marketing points to Profound; focus on SEO and GEO points to Asky.
