AI brand positioning tools show how AI engines describe your company, and whether that matches how you describe yourself. Asky sets what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews each say about you against your stored positioning statement, point by point and by market, from €399 a month. We compared it with seven others as of 5 November 2026: Peec AI, Profound, Otterly.AI, AthenaHQ, Semrush, Ahrefs and Scrunch.

That description now reaches buyers early. In a Gartner survey of 645 B2B buyers, 45% said they used GenAI during a recent purchase, primarily to gather information on vendors and products (Gartner). Every fact about each tool below comes from its own website, checked on 5 November 2026.

Which criteria should AI brand positioning tools meet?

An AI brand positioning tool should tell you whether each engine tells your story the way you tell it. We applied four tests to every tool on this list.

  • It shows each engine separately. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can describe the same company in different ways.
  • It compares answers with what you say. The tool checks answers against your positioning or the facts you set, not only a sentiment score.
  • It works by market. It shows the description in each country you sell in.
  • It checks again on its own. It reruns on a schedule, and a change to your positioning does not need a manual rebuild.

Price comes after these tests. We list the cheapest plan that includes the check, because several tools keep it on higher tiers.

1. Asky: best for checking each engine against your positioning

Overview

Asky is an AI-native SEO and GEO platform from Stockholm that closes the loop from insight to execution. Its brand alignment program asks each engine you track about your brand, then sets what it says against the positioning and facts you define. Asky reports the result by engine and by market.

Strengths

  • Each engine's description is compared point by point with your positioning statement, and each point is labeled Aligned, Different emphasis, Added caveat, Contradiction or Not established.
  • You can read each engine's own summary or the summary across all of them, for each market you track.
  • After you change your positioning statement, Update in Asky compares the latest scan with the new wording, and later scans use it.
  • The attributes engines attach to your brand are tracked with their sentiment, scan after scan.
  • Of the eight tools compared, Asky is the only one whose public pages describe a built-in check of each engine against a stored positioning statement, by market. That holds as of 5 November 2026.

Weaknesses

  • Positioning is read in a monthly scan on the day of your first, with a sample of tracked answers from the weeks between; an extra scan costs credits.
  • The comparison needs a positioning statement in your Brand Profile; without one, you see the summaries but no point-by-point check.

Best for

Teams that have repositioned, or plan to, and want each engine and market checked against the new statement every month without checking by hand.

2. Peec AI: best for attributes and objections by AI model

Overview

Peec AI, from Berlin, tracks how AI models mention brands across daily prompts. Its Brand Perception section has three parts: Market, Objections and Fact-checking.

Strengths

  • Market scores the attributes AI associates with your brand against how prominent you are in your industry.
  • Fact-checking splits answers into single claims and checks each one against the facts you enter.
  • Every Brand Perception view follows a model filter, so you can see how perception shifts on one engine.

Weaknesses

  • Market and Objections run on Peec AI's own set of AI answers, not on your tracked prompts.
  • A built-in comparison with a positioning statement is not described publicly; its pages describe it as an MCP workflow.

Best for

Teams that want to see which qualities each AI model credits them with, and the case it makes against them.

3. Profound: best for enterprise sentiment and fact checks

Overview

Profound, based in New York, sells AI visibility to brands through custom Enterprise plans after a free trial. Its Sentiment product groups what AI says into themes and attributes, and FactCheck tests claims against your Knowledge Base.

Strengths

  • Sentiment breaks each theme into the claims behind it, filterable by date, region, prompt, persona and platform.
  • FactCheck pulls factual claims from tagged prompts every day and classifies each against your Knowledge Base.
  • Negative Sentiment Drivers lists the most cited pages behind your top negative claims.

Weaknesses

  • Its docs list FactCheck on all plans but put the Knowledge Base that FactCheck needs on Enterprise.
  • FactCheck covers factual, atomic claims; subjective statements go to Sentiment, which groups them into themes and attributes rather than checking them against your positioning.

Best for

Large brands that want sentiment and fact checks inside an enterprise AI visibility contract.

4. Otterly.AI: best for Brand Profiling across engines and countries

Overview

Otterly.AI, based in Austria, tracks how AI search engines mention and cite brands across the prompts you set. Brand Profiling, added in October 2026, shows the attributes engines associate with you and the objections they raise.

Strengths

  • Brand Profiling is on every plan and can be reported per engine, per country and per tag.
  • A Net Sentiment Score from minus 100 to plus 100 is scored per engine, with the sentence behind each score.
  • Its marketplace On Brand checker prompt compares your home page positioning with what each engine says.

Weaknesses

  • Brand Profiling compares the attributes engines give you with your competitors', not with a positioning statement you enter.
  • The On Brand checker is a copy-paste prompt run in Claude with the Otterly.AI connector; it reads your home page each time and has no country step.

Best for

Teams that want attribute and objection tracking per engine and country inside their AI visibility tracker.

5. AthenaHQ: best for fact checks that compare AI models

Overview

AthenaHQ, based in San Francisco, sells credits for AI answers, with a free Essential tier and a Starter plan at $295 a month. Its Oracle feature, on Enterprise, checks what AI models say about your brand against your verified Knowledge Base facts.

Strengths

  • Oracle groups confirmed inaccuracies, possible Knowledge Base issues and disagreements between models.
  • It reports accuracy by model, so you see which engine gets you wrong most.
  • Brand attributes track up to 12 traits, such as pricing or reliability, for positive and negative mentions.

Weaknesses

  • Oracle and its Knowledge Base are on Enterprise.
  • Positioning is checked as Knowledge Base facts, claim by claim, while the Brand Description field feeds content generation.

Best for

Enterprise teams that maintain a detailed knowledge base and want AI models checked against it.

6. Semrush: best for perception reports next to SEO data

Overview

Semrush, based in Boston, includes Brand Performance reports in its AI Visibility Toolkit. The Perception and Narrative Drivers reports show how AI platforms perceive your brand next to your competitors.

Strengths

  • Competitive Perception by Platform shows favorable sentiment for you and each competitor on each AI platform it covers.
  • Narrative monitoring shows the exact words and framings AI uses when it describes your brand.
  • Key Sentiment Drivers split brand strengths from areas to improve.

Weaknesses

  • Setup asks for a domain, location and language; a field for your own positioning is not described publicly.
  • Its guidance for spotting inaccurate answers is to open each answer and read its sources.

Best for

SEO teams on Semrush that want an AI perception view next to their search data.

7. Ahrefs: best for fact checks against a source document

Overview

Ahrefs, based in Singapore, tracks AI mentions through Brand Radar. For fact checks, Ahrefs offers Letaido, a separate marketing agent workspace with a fact-checking skill that tests AI answers against a source of truth you provide.

Strengths

  • Brand Radar tracks prompt sentiment by brand, topic and AI platform over time.
  • Letaido can check AI answers against the source document you provide.
  • Ahrefs lists its plan prices publicly, Enterprise included.

Weaknesses

  • Letaido is billed separately from Ahrefs, from $99 a month.
  • Ahrefs lists Brand Radar from $50 in its FAQ and from $199 on its pricing page.

Best for

SEO teams already on Ahrefs that want fact checks against one document they control.

8. Scrunch: best for sentiment by platform, persona and country

Overview

Scrunch, based in Salt Lake City and now part of Sitecore, tracks AI answers per brand from $250 a month. Its sentiment can be filtered by platform, persona, country and topic.

Strengths

  • Sentiment filters cover platform, persona and country; Core covers one country and one persona.
  • Knowledge Studio adds a Fact Check Agent that compares what AI agents understand with your approved company knowledge.
  • The trial runs seven days without a sales call.

Weaknesses

  • The Fact Check Agent is an Enterprise beta.
  • Core includes five seats, with extra users at an added cost.

Best for

Enterprise brands that want sentiment cut by persona and country.

How do you track AI answers after a repositioning?

In Asky, update the positioning statement in your Brand Profile and select Update. Each engine's answers from the latest scan are then compared with the new wording, and every later scan uses it.

A short routine works for most teams:

  1. Write the new positioning in one or two sentences, in the words you want engines to repeat.
  2. Update the pages engines read about you, starting with your home page and product pages.
  3. Compare each engine's answers with the new statement in every market you sell in.
  4. Check again after the next monthly scan, or run an extra scan with credits to check fresh answers sooner.

Watch the points labeled Not established, Contradiction or Different emphasis, market by market; Not established means engines do not mention that part of your message yet. Judge progress over many answers, not one. In a University of Toronto study, two runs of the same question through ChatGPT's API on the same day shared only 15% of their cited pages (University of Toronto).

How is positioning different from sentiment in AI answers?

Sentiment tells you whether an answer is favorable; positioning tells you whether it says what you want to be known for. Asky tracks both: sentiment across the tracked answers that mention you, and positioning against your statement in each monthly scan.

A positive answer can still miss your positioning, for example by praising your price when you sell on depth. Our AI sentiment monitoring guide covers tone, and our guide on checking AI brand accuracy covers wrong facts.

How did we compare these tools?

We read each vendor's pricing page, product pages and documentation on 5 November 2026, and quote prices as each vendor lists them. Where a vendor's own pages disagree, we say so or leave the claim out.

We did not test how quickly each engine changed its answers.

Key takeaways
  1. Write down your positioning first, so answers can be compared with it.
  2. Check each engine separately, because they describe the same company differently.
  3. Separate tone from message: a favorable answer can still miss your positioning.
  4. After a repositioning, compare the latest answers with the new statement before you change anything else.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI visibility platforms show how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews each position my brand?

Asky sets what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews each say about you against the positioning statement you store, point by point and by market. Each point is labeled Aligned, Different emphasis, Added caveat, Contradiction or Not established. Several tools on this list show perception per engine; the point-by-point check against your own statement is what Asky adds.

We repositioned our product last quarter; what tools track whether AI assistants describe us the new way?

Asky does: update the positioning statement in your Brand Profile, select Update, and Asky compares each engine's answers from the latest scan with the new wording. Later scans check against it, and an extra scan, paid with credits, checks fresh answers sooner.

Our agency checks by hand how ChatGPT and Perplexity describe us; which tool should we switch to so this runs automatically?

Asky runs the check for you every month on each engine you track, such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, in each market. It compares the answers with your positioning statement. Your team and your agency see the same comparison, without copying answers into a spreadsheet.

Do I need a positioning statement to use these tools?

It helps, because comparing answers with your message needs that message in writing. Asky reads it from your Brand Profile; without it, you still see how each engine describes you, but not where it differs from your positioning.

How often should you check how AI describes your brand?

Monthly suits most brands, with an extra check after a launch or repositioning. Because answers change from run to run, judge a shift on many answers, not one: a monthly scan plus a sample of answers from the weeks between does that.

Which AI brand positioning tool should you choose?

Choose Asky if you have a positioning statement and want each engine and market measured against it, next to the rest of your SEO and GEO work. See how brand alignment works or compare plans and prices.

If you are still choosing a platform overall, our list of the best AI visibility tools compares the wider field.
